Background

Marcy R. Frost graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1992 and was awarded membership in the prestigious Order of the Coif society.  In over twenty years of practice in the Twin Cities with Larkin, Hoffman, Daly & Lindgren, Faegre & Benson, and Moss & Barnett, Marcy has represented businesses in employment litigation and advised them on a wide range of legal issues affecting the workplace.  She is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Labor and Employment Law Specialist.

Creating Useful and User Friendly Documents

Marcy’s persuasive writing style serves her clients well, whether she is responding on their behalf to a charge of discrimination filed with a governmental agency or protecting their rights against competition by a former employee.  Her ability to convey complex issues in precise language results in written contracts that protect her clients, provides clients necessary flexibility, and avoids the pitfalls of ambiguous language.

Marcy understands that the best way for an employer to minimize human resources issues is to have effective employment policies and practices in place.  She has crafted employee handbooks and policies and worked with employers on the best way to implement them.

Counseling Employers

Good policies and consistent implementation can do much to minimize problems, but every employer eventually finds itself with a difficult employee, an unfortunate set of circumstances, or unexpected results from well-meaning actions.  Marcy serves as a trusted advisor to employers in such situations by applying her knowledge and experience to the real-world dilemmas her clients face.

Marcy takes the time to explain difficult concepts in a way that is understandable to her clients who have not studied the complex maze of statutes and regulations governing the workplace.  She presents her clients with the advantages and disadvantages of various solutions and helps them maximize the benefits and reduce the risks of whichever solution they choose.  Marcy is always cognizant of the fact that her clients have businesses to run and cannot let employee issues drive their business decisions.  Her advice is practical and takes cost efficiencies into consideration.

Commitment to Client Service

Marcy enjoys getting to know her clients and their businesses. Without the pressure of “billable hours,” Marcy can do this more effectively than ever before.  Marcy returns calls promptly and provides her clients with fast turn-around on written documents.
